Trainings

The CAI-K facility is designed to develope human resource requirements on analytical instrumentation through workshops, training programmes and short-term courses.

Analytical techniques play an indispensable part of chemical and biological research in recent times. The major hurdles faced by students and academician's are availability of sophisticated instruments as well as its proper usage and data deciphering.

The CAI-K facility is designed cater to the development of human resource requirements on analytical instrumentation through workshops, training programmes and short-term diploma courses. The objective of such human resource development is to satisfy the needs of science departments of universities and academic institutions, to assist the industries, R&D organizations and higher education centres by providing high quality training in sophisticated analytical instrumentation facilities.

The training programme on analytical instruments provides immense practical knowledge about all advance analytical instruments which set a platform to all science students who wish to pursue their higher studies or join chemical/pharmaceutical industries. Three regular training programmes in analytical instrumentation are proposed to be conducted at the facility are

Short-term training courses

Short-term training courses

These are week long training programmes specific applications basically to equip the trainees with theoretical and practical aspects of certain techniques and instruments. The target groups are post –graduate students or research scholars. Training classes will be conducted by Scientists within, external experts from other Institutes and technical experts from Private firms. An amount may be charged from the individual participants as course fees to meet the expenses. Internship programmes

Internship programmes

The internship programmes is planned for a period of 3 months to create a pool of technically competent manpower for handling analytical instruments. The objectives of the programme are;

  • To equip the Interns with the theoretical aspects of Gas chromatograph, GC-MS, High Performance Liquid Chromatography, CHNS analyser etc
  • Impart training on procedures in handling sophisticated analytical instruments and
  • Training on data keeping and routine maintenance of analytical instruments.

Certificate course programmes

Certificate course programmes

Six month long diploma course is planned to meet the growing human resource requirements of pharma/biotech/ food/natural product/Ayurveda industries in the field of analytical instrumentation. Off late most of the research and quality control activities of above said industries are depend on high throughput analytical capabilities. However there’s a drastic dearth of trained manpower in this area. Even though the undergraduate or post graduate curriculum has the theoretical aspects of many of the analytical techniques, the practical knowledge of the students are very poor and needs thorough training to meet the requirements of the industry. This programme could be planned in association with some of the leading universities, in order to approve curriculum and award the certificates.
