The hands-on training on Gas Chromatography–Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) provides participants with practical exposure to one of the most powerful analytical techniques for the separation, identification, and quantification of volatile and semi- volatile compounds. The training covers the basic principles of gas chromatography and mass spectrometry, including sample preparation, instrument operation, method development, and optimisation of analytical conditions. The workshop is intended to provide the basics of GC-MS to the participants along with instrumentation and practical experience in some of the applications. It is particularly useful for applications in natural products, forestry, environmental science, food, pharmaceuticals, and chemical research.
